About the Show

Exploring frontiers of contemplative science

The Mind & Life podcast explores fundamental questions at the intersection of science and contemplative wisdom.

How do we understand our minds? What are the mental patterns that shape our experience—how are those patterns created, maintained, and changed? What role can contemplative practices like meditation play in individual and collective well-being?

Through conversations that span psychology, philosophy, neuroscience, anthropology, religion, social science, art, activism, and lived experience, we bring together leading researchers, thinkers, and practitioners to deepen understanding of ourselves and our world.

A New Mini-Series with Host Jamie Bristow

What if systems change doesn’t begin only with policy, technology or institutions, but also with attention, relationship, healing, and the stories we live by? In this special mini-series, guest host Jamie Bristow brings together leading thinkers and practitioners to explore the inner dimensions of social and ecological transformation.

Across conversations on The Work That Reconnects, trauma, Theory U, social and ecological mindfulness, and wider contemplative approaches, the series asks not just why inner-led change matters, but how it is already shaping real-world change at every level. Grounded, searching, and refreshingly unsentimental, these episodes connect personal practice with collective action, and deep reflection with practical transformation. With rich panel discussions and a strong systems lens, this is a series for anyone trying to respond more wisely, courageously, and effectively to a complex world.
